Description:

Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Warehouse Utility associate to join our sales operations team at the Nampa, ID Distribution Center / Boise, ID area. The Merchandiser Warehouse Utility associate oversees and organizes warehouse operations. Key responsibilities include ensuring product rotation, condition, inventory, security, and placement are efficiently maintained; and covering open sales routes and delivering product as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures that warehouse is opened and closed at scheduled times.
  • Checks product that Independent Operators and Distributors pick and load, signing load tickets to verify correct inventory.
  • Assists with training new warehouse team members.
  • Orders inventory. Receives, stores, loads, and ensures all products and materials are accounted for and kept in excellent condition.
  • Unloads trailers that arrive at the center and checks trailer loads for accuracy.
  • Maintains an accurate daily inventory balances.
  • Uses a hand-held computer to balance the daily inventory (warehouse inventory, daily orders, extra orders, return to stock, trailer loads).
  • Accepts and checks return to stock product and stale and damaged products.
  • Places returned cardboard and stale and damaged product on trailers.
  • Maintains cleanliness of warehouse, including the restroom(s).
  • Keeps warehouse organized including product rotation.
  • Covers open routes as directed by the management:
    • Maintains the required plan-a-gram.
    • Stocks sufficient quantities and varieties of product in all stores.
    • Properly rotates (back to front) all merchandise on every account call and removes from the shelf any outdated or non-saleable product.


  • Uses point of purchase material as needed.
  • Delivers product to customers and bins as needed. Places and merchandizes authorized products in accounts that are to be serviced.
  • Assists with month-end inventory counts.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent or 2+ years of relevant experience working in a warehouse preferred.
  • Prior experience using an Enterprise Resource System such as D365 is highly preferred.
  • Requires organization and attention to details to maintain accurate inventory, records, and rotation of product at the distribution center.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Requires basic math skills.
  • Requires independent decision making on inventory needs, especially during promotional activity.
  • Requires a valid driver's license.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a DOT Medical card.
  • Must be 19 years old or older.
  • Must be able to operate a route sales delivery step van or box truck in a safe and competent manner.
  • Able to fill in and cover open routes as necessary.
  • Ability to drive a forklift and/or use a hand jack may be required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Outlook/Excel.
  • Requires use of hands for simple grasping.
  • Requires the ability to walk, sit, talk, bend, stand, twist, push, and pull frequently and for long periods.
  • Driving a company vehicle, a van or a box truck, is required.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, load, and transport light to medium weight products.
