Education and Work Experience:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Scope of Position:
Stand near the kettle at your assigned location daily. Ring your bell. Exude Christmas spirit.
Dress appropriately and wear required items (i.e. Bell Ringer apron, ID badge) while on duty.
Represent The Salvation Army to the community by greeting people and thanking donors. Be
congenial and kind in all interactions. Dress for the weather. Read over "Bell Ringer Cheat
Sheet" for rules regarding conduct at the kettle.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Must have a valid Idaho Driver's License
Must pass Criminal background check
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ring your bell.
2. Wear your apron visibly.
3. Thank all donors.
4. Be kind to all store customers and employees.
5. Respect store management's wishes.
6. Turn in time cards to kettles daily when the driver picks it up or at the end of your shift,
whichever is first.
7. Dress appropriately for the weather.
8. Clock in and out and take breaks according to your schedule for the day.
9. Bring out stand at the beginning of your shift and put it away before you leave.
Physical Requirements:
Standing up to 6.5 hours per day (sitting only as necessary)
Prepare for inclement weather
Working Conditions:
Possibly be outside in all weather conditions including snow or rain.
Work outdoors most of the time (depending on store requirements), sometimes in inclement
weather.
Involves contact with diverse clientele, including persons who are angry, confused, or frustrated.
Please be kind to all.
Long periods of standing.
MISCELLANEOUS:
The Salvation Army does have a dress code. This will be shared with you at the time of
employment.
The candidate chosen for this position will be required to pass a criminal history information
