Description
SUMMARY:
Responsible for handling the requests and transactions of the hotel guests, and coordinating with the other departments as necessary while providing outstanding guest service. Run required reports during the night shift.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Verify each front desk shift's transactions.
2. Process credit card transactions.
3. Post room and tax charges to all guest folios.
4. Finalize transactions completed during the day.
5. Create and/or print required reports.
6. File or transmit reports, as directed.
7. Prepare folios for departing guests.
8. Handle hotel phone system, transfer calls, and take messages for guests as well as hotel staff.
9. Take, modify and cancel guest reservations, noting any special requests.
10. Assist in the verification, balancing and revenue maximization of hotel's room availability.
11. Verify, balance and review guestroom availability.
12. Check in/out guests. Verify departure dates and offer to make future reservations.
13. Post phone-charges, valet charges and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts.
14. Administer guest payment policies.
15. Responsible for shift cash transactions.
16. Responsible for maintaining hotel key security system.
17. Administer guest safe deposit boxes.
18. Perform all other tasks and assignments as requested by Manager.
19. Responsible for knowing hotel emergency procedures.
20. Update guestroom status and inform Housekeeping as dirty suites become available. Update guestroom status when notified by Housekeeping.
21. Read and communicate clearly.
22. Distribute mail and other correspondence to guests and hotel staff.
23. Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest special requests.
24. Communicate property facilities and services to guest at check-in.
25. Answer guest questions regarding local area facilities.
26. Notify housekeeping and maintenance of any reported problems with guestrooms, public areas, back of house areas, or grounds.
27. Track status of guestrooms used for tours and status of guestrooms in maintenance.
28. Perform all other tasks and assignments as requested by Manager.
