Description:

The Vice President under the direct of the President, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and oversee activities in the business unit, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the company.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Oversee and/or perform all aspects of work from point of sale to billing, as required.
  • Oversees the preparation and final approval of project plans.
  • Conducts or acquires cost analysis for development projects; prepares or delegates preparation of schedule of project completion dates.
  • Establishes and implements the strategic direction of the company's construction and development initiatives.
  • Conducts and/or reviews cost analysis by assessing material, labor, and overhead costs incurred in the production and finished products.
  • Ensures that operating costs do not exceed the proposed budget.
  • Evaluates cost effectiveness of and projects.
  • Gather and analyze financial data to estimate and allocate costs for current or proposed projects.
  • Drafts cost estimates for projects based on data analysis and research
  • Estimates the cost of new and proposed projects and services in the assigned departments, areas, or projects.
  • Oversight and coordination of inventory relating to service work, project contracts, the warehouse, shop, and fleet, as required.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new technologies and systems to improve organizational processes and decision-making.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements construction and development policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations.
  • Works with the management team to establish and administer the department's budget.
  • Negotiates cost-effective contracts for the organization; coordinates and implements contractors work, and resolves any disputes over labor, scheduling, or payments.
  • Maintains relationships between the organization and outside consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the project management/development tracking tool.
  • Receives, organizes, and maintains all construction documents.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • 8+ years of commercial roofing experience or an equivalent market
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and/or construction project management software
  • Some Travel will be required as dictated by projects/customers
