Job Summary

A Senior Business Advisor (BA) at MACU is expected to have a high level of business acumen. A BA should be considered an industry expert regarding the banking needs of small to medium sized businesses and act as an advisor accordingly. A BA will be expected to grow revenue through various methods while managing a specific allocated budget for their business development needs. In addition, the BA is expected to manage the existing portfolio and deepen existing member relationships. A BA acts as the SME and ambassador for MACU as it relates to business banking. This position will be under the Business Services department and report to a Business Services Sales Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Navigate through basic and complex sales cycles of new and existing opportunities.
  • Act as a key advisor regarding the banking and treasury management needs.
  • Prospect for new qualified businesses within their market.
  • Be resourceful and strategic on more complex setups.
  • Manage existing relationships to ensure proper servicing of accounts and expansion.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Complete high-quality applications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Display collaborative behavior with internal and external partners that results in new business opportunities and an overall better member experience.
  • Able to successfully perform Business Reviews with business members using relationship skills centered around AAA, while offering product solutions accordingly.
  • Convey strong Value Proposition to branch teams and partners.
  • Represent MACU core values.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience in business-to-business relationship management.
  • Banking acumen experience.
  • Strong presentation skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or related field preferred, or 5+ years combined experience in sales or relationship management.

Computer/Office Equipment Skills

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Experience with fin-tech software preferred.
  • Ability to demo MACU products and services both virtually and in person.
  • Strong ability to perform daily job tasks using video calling software (Zoom, Teams, etc.).

Language Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results, and recommendations verbally, in writing, and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations.
  • Ability to document outcomes and present information in a manner appropriate for key stakeholders and all levels of the organization.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with strong organizing and time management skills.
  • Adaptive to change and responds positively to altered circumstances or conditions.
  • Possess a desire and willingness to learn and continually update knowledge base on financial concepts, strategies, systems, etc.
  • Take initiative to be a problem solver and provide suggestions to improve processes and efficiencies.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to lead and collaborate with ad-hoc teams.
  • Data analytics and data validation skills and proficiency in business data analysis (MS Excel, etc.).
