Maintenance Director-Fulltime/Retirement/PTO/$21.25-$26.56/hr - Downtown Boise YMCA

Description:

The Downtown Family YMCA opened its doors in 1964 and has since been a landmark in the Downtown Boise area. The facility has a full court basketball gym, a large cardio fitness center, multiple strength training systems and rooms, racquetball courts, a climbing wall, five fitness studios, three swimming pools, and multiple youth programming areas.

Maintenance Director oversees the maintenance and improvements of the YMCA facilities and assigned vehicles.

Work Location: 1050 West State Street, Boise, ID 83702

Schedule:

This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. Schedule requirements are Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm. Rate of pay is $21.25-$23.00/hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall coordination of facility, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
  • Supervise staff, including hiring, onboarding, role-modeling, and coaching, scheduling and on-going development.
  • Recruits and manages volunteers as needed per current Volunteer Policies and Guidelines.
  • Ensures that assigned vehicles and other equipment are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
  • Anticipates risk, implications and possible outcomes before taking action.
  • Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner; oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds; follows procedures for bids and recommendation of selection of contractors.
  • Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building departments, etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
  • Prepares budgets and interprets financial related statements and forecasts to support the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of previous experience in maintenance field required (facility management preferred).
  • 2-4 years of previous experience as a commercial pool operator (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance related areas.
  • Able to work varied hours outside normal schedule to include late nights, weekends due to projects, maintenance issues, and rotation of on-call calendar.
  • Excellent human relations skills and an ability to maintain position communication with staff and members.
  • Ability to address and make solid decisions in emergency situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including telephone etiquette and computer use.
  • Prior experience of successful supervision of staff and volunteers preferred.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
