Description

Leidos is seeking dedicated licensed behavioral health professionals to become a part of our Adult Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) team. This is an exceptional opportunity to serve U.S. military service members and their families as they navigate important life adjustments associated with military service.

The Adult-MFLC position offers a vital role in providing non-medical support through counseling, consultation, and outreach to service members, military family members, and eligible personnel. Our approach is preventive, focusing on addressing issues before they escalate into greater challenges.

Service members and their families face unique emotional and environmental challenges due to military life stressors. This role allows you to provide support precisely where it is needed most.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face counseling sessions with military service members and their families, including individuals, couples, and families.
  • Engage in activities with service members and their families, offer coaching and guidance, and model behavior management techniques.
  • Deliver presentations at military events for service members, families, and leadership.
  • Encourage creativity and positivity through approved materials.
  • Foster relationships with families by attending community and installation events.
  • Assist families with adjustments during transitions, such as moving to a new home or school.
  • Participate in regular training and contract activities.
  • Provide feedback on trends and issues at assigned locations to Team Leads.

Benefits of Being an Adult-MFLC:

  • No insurance claims or progress notes necessary.
  • No treatment plans required.
  • An iPad is provided for easy reporting without disclosing PII or PHI.
  • Paid federal holidays and free behavioral healthcare training.
  • Reimbursement for job-related license renewal fees.
  • Eligibility to join the 401K retirement plan.
  • Access to a Counseling Center of Excellence for resources and best practices.

Additional Duties May Include:

  • Responding to urgent situations on military installations.
  • Navigating various physical environments and outdoor conditions.
  • Meeting specific site requirements on military bases as necessary.

Work Environment:

In collaboration with the Department of Defense, duties will be performed in both indoor (approx. 60%) and outdoor (approx. 40%) settings. Indoor environments will be in controlled areas like child development centers, while outdoor work will involve navigating uneven terrains and variable weather conditions.

Licensure Portability:

Excitingly, licensed Military and Family Life Counselors can provide services anywhere in the U.S., regardless of where they are licensed, following the recent National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions.
  • A valid independent license in the mental health field from any U.S. state or territory.
  • U.S. citizenship as per government contract requirements.
  • Ability to pass background checks including a Child National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance.

Pay Range: $57,850.00 - $104,575.00. Please note that this pay range is intended as a guideline and does not guarantee a specific salary.
