Description:

Darigold is seeking an experienced leader who will have responsibility for our Boise Manufacturing Plant that produces Milk, Sour Cream, Cottage Cheese and several other products. This leader will work closely with a diverse set of stakeholders across the business including leaders of Quality, Environment and Safety, Engineering and Portfolio Category Leaders, along with corporate functions and Centers of Expertise.

What You Will Do:

  • The Senior Site Director is expected to lead this site and own its results, taking the initiative to drive those outcomes in the short, medium and long-term. Their responsibilities include shaping the culture of the facility to develop a highly engaged workforce, lead Cap Ex and manage daily production, safety and food safety to very high standards.
  • Ensure the site follows best practices in order to drive and sustain operational excellence. Set high standards for the site to continually reduce cycle times, eliminate waste in manufacturing processes and improve on-time delivery. Collaborate with other Darigold leaders across sites to leverage and implement best practices.
  • Manage the professional development of the site's leadership teams. Develop and cascade annual objectives to direct reports with strong emphasis on driving improvements in commercial success of the site, safety, operational excellence, quality, delivery and team member engagement.
  • Oversee and direct the site teams to ensure monthly and quarterly production expectations are met.
  • Work proactively with site teams to identify safety, quality and production issues. Ensure the operations teams react in a timely manner to changes in production rates, either by scaling up or down, as the demand dictates.
  • Relentlessly drive the Zero Harm culture by ensuring safety goals are achieved, including attainment of goals for lost time and recordable rates; assuring roadmap targets are met for the site; assuring that HS&E resources are properly deployed to address challenges and sustain successes and continually seeks new and creative ways to drive the desired safety culture.
  • Ensure quality standards are implemented and are adhered to. Work in close collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Suppliers and other parties to ensure the quality of finished goods.
  • Define and successfully execute the annual operation plan for the location.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration with Darigold more broadly, including integrating with the broader manufacturing footprint and leading project teams that include cross-functional representatives.
  • Work closely with the Commercial team to manage customer audits and demonstrate a customer-centric approach in order to develop value-added products that meet customer needs.
  • Support Darigold Performance System (DPS) and Focused Improvement (FI) efforts.
What You Bring:
  • 10 + years of progressive levels of responsibility leading managers and hourly employees in a manufacturing environment with 4+ years in a plant leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and growing manufacturing employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a manufacturing plant to achieve or exceed objectives.
  • Communication capability with impact for the site and across the broader organization.
  • Demonstrated experience assessing risks and making timely decisions.
  • Leading an organization through challenges.
  • Ability to handle conflict and display diplomacy skills in handling situations which can be disruptive to the organization's business development.
  • Ability to identify, assess and develop business development / process improvement projects and appropriate financial justification.
  • Strong technical understanding of Manufactured Dairy Products operations and equipment.
  • Dairy experience, fluid milk and aseptic experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated financial understanding to include budgeting, staffing, and cost analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of food safety regulations, EH&S, and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with lean/operational excellence tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated experience attracting, retaining talent and building teams.
