Idaho Wine Merchant General Manager

Description:

Idaho's largest and fastest growing distributor, Hayden Beverage Company, is accepting applications for a General Manager of Idaho Wine Merchant Division. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the IWM Sales Division, with responsibility for the division's P&L and the authority for independent decision-making.

Key Responsibilities of the General Manager of Idaho Wine Merchant

The primary function of this role is to work closely with the Executive Team, manage department heads, and lead the Division to achieve strategic, competitive, and profit goals as defined by the President/COO.

  • Participate in formulating and implementing company policies, directing activities to develop long-range goals and profitability growth.
  • Review activity analyses, costs, operations, and forecast data to monitor division progress.
  • Promote a professional and productive culture within the division and in interactions with other departments.
  • Consult with the President to review achievements and adjust goals based on current conditions.
  • Provide leadership in employee relations through effective management, communication, coaching, training, and development.
  • Lead problem resolution efforts to facilitate improvements and foster better working relationships.
  • Develop, review, and update strategic business plans, including sales, financial performance, product-market strategies, and operational metrics.
  • Oversee sales and operational functions, review reports, and resolve issues to ensure cost efficiency and support growth.
  • Support sales initiatives, oversee design concepts, and incorporate new technologies for product development and market expansion.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and participate in key initiatives.
  • Review operational plans to meet sales requirements and develop new brands and markets.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports, set goals and KPIs, and hold teams accountable for results.

The Qualified Candidate

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 10+ years of related experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating resourcefulness and decision-making skills
  • Strong presentation, persuasive sales, and analytical skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships, providing high levels of service and clear communication
  • Deep knowledge of the beverage industry
  • Valid Motor Vehicle record
  • Pre-employment drug testing and background check required
