ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager of Market Strategy has overall responsibility for power market analysis and strategy. You will lead fundamental market research, production of relevant, actionable market insights, and development of go-to market strategies that support the long-term success of Clenera's Independent Power Producer model.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build and maintain persistent market models to understand and analyze supply/demand dynamics in U.S. power markets.
  • Source and integrate high-quality data for market models, including but not limited to utility integrated resource plans (IRP), utility interconnection queues, competitor project pipelines, internal intelligence from regional development teams, and other available market data.
  • Recommend and leverage data analysis and visualization tools, including artificial intelligence (AI) to clean, organize, and analyze large datasets to find viable opportunities others might miss.
  • Define and refine key market assumptions, including trends in energy transition, renewable and battery deployment, demand response, tax credits, regulatory constraints, and state/federal emission targets.
  • Partner with Development team to calibrate prioritization of core geographic markets for solar and battery storage development.
  • Own and develop go-to market strategies for new and existing markets, maximizing profit.
  • Partner with origination team to develop project marketing strategies including but not limited to customer relations and targeting, RFP responses, and pricing.
  • Support initiatives to directly meet growing large load/data center demand.
  • Stay up to date on market news and trends via development of personal network and as-needed travel for stakeholder meetings and industry conferences.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor/graduate degree in business, marketing, economics, statistics, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Business-to-Business (B2B) experience, including market research and strategy.
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis and visualization (e.g., Tableau, etc.), AI tools, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively solve problems with little direction.
    • Demonstrated success in producing relevant and actionable market insights in complex and ambiguous environments.
    • Ability to create strategic go-to-market strategies based on actionable market insights, to include new and existing markets.
    • Comfortable in aligning high-level strategy with a detail-oriented work approach.
    • Effective in working cross-functionally, laterally, and with external teams.
