Description:

Rising Sun Animal Hospital, a veterinary hospital owned by a local, experienced veterinarian, is hiring for veterinary technicians. The hospital is growing quickly, and we need more veterinary technicians! We are currently looking for full-time employees to work four 9-hour shifts. Rising Sun Animal Hospital wants to provide clients in Nampa and neighboring cities with the highest level of veterinary services and personalized care for their small animals and exotic pets. We are committed to providing our patients with the most up to date veterinary care - both medically and surgically - and making it affordable. We specialize in integrating Western and Eastern Medicine for our patient's treatments. To succeed with our vision, we want to hire compassionate and talented staff. We want to educate our clients about integrative therapies and preventative care. We feel that communication is an integral part in successful veterinary treatments. We practice fear-free techniques at the hospital to help improve pet visits and provide a stress-free environment. While focusing on providing the best veterinary care, we also want to make working in veterinary medicine stress-free, safe, and positive for our staff. After 12 years of doing this, we have learned a few things, mainly, skills are great, but attitude is everything! We also want to empower our staff to set goals for themselves and to grow with the hospital and make work enjoyable. The ideal candidates have the following qualities: Strong desire to take outstanding care of pets and people too Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment Ability to handle stressful and emotional situations with extreme professionalism Excellent communication skills Ability to relay important information from veterinarian to client in a knowledgeable and professional manner Common sense problem solving Team-oriented with a positive attitude Ability to adapt and learn new veterinary protocols or techniques for multiple species Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: obtaining a history and recording medical record entries in a SOAP format in a digital PMS, venipuncture/IVC placement, lab analysis (fecal, UA, basic cytology), using in-house lab equipment, taking radiographs, administering medications PO/SQ/IM/IV, anesthetic monitoring, stocking supplies, discharge patients from the hospital, collect payment from owners, perform dental radiographs and cleaning teeth, perform blood pressure, EKG, and phlebotomy in the presence of the owner. Position Requirements: - High School Diploma or GED - Must be at least 18 years of age or older - Ability to lift 40 pounds independently - At least two years of experience in the veterinary field - Wanting to learn how to or already able to monitor pets while under anesthesia - Comfortable working around all species of animals - No smoking and no vaping permitted on the premise Benefits include but are not limited to: Competitive Pay Based on Skill Level Flexible, fixed schedule Paid Time Off Paid Major Holidays No nights and weekends Employee discount for veterinary care and food Annual CE benefits for certified technicians available after 6 months of employment Please provide Resume (CV) and cover letter We look forward to speaking with you!
