Position
We are hiring a Specimen Transport & Inventory team member to support our Boise operations. This full-time, patient-facing role involves transporting medical specimens using a company vehicle, managing inventory and supplies, and performing light office duties as needed. This position requires professionalism, reliability, and a teachable mindset, with strong attention to detail and comfort driving in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Safely pick up and deliver medical specimens on schedule using a company vehicle.
- Ensure specimen integrity and time-sensitive deliveries while following HIPAA, OSHA, and biohazard handling protocols.
- Communicate clearly with dispatch and clinic staff regarding pickups, deliveries, and updates.
- Track and maintain medical inventory and supplies using internal tools.
- Perform light office duties as needed to support operations during downtime.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the company vehicle and inventory storage areas.
- Accurately complete chain-of-custody documentation and delivery logs.
- Adapt to changes in routes, schedules, and operational needs with a positive, problem-solving mindset.
- Represent Rocky Mountain Laboratories professionally with patients, clients, and clinic staff.
- Assist with occasional special projects or additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Note: This is an entry-level role well-suited for individuals who have recently completed education or certification in a healthcare, laboratory, or medical assisting field. While prior related experience is preferred, we encourage newly certified or recently trained candidates to apply.
- Active personal auto insurance and a clean driving record (required to operate company vehicle).
- Comfortable driving in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, and icy roads.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and frequently enter/exit a vehicle.
- Comfortable working independently and following protocols with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Computer and mobile app proficiency for routing, data entry, and documentation.
- Reliable, teachable, and dependable, with a strong work ethic and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare, medical office, laboratory, or medical delivery setting.
- Experience in medical specimen transport, mobile phlebotomy, medical office management, or medical inventory management.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, OSHA, and biohazard handling protocols.
- Experience using routing apps or tracking systems.
- Prior experience with supply tracking and restocking in a healthcare environment.
ScheduleMonday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (30 hours/week)
W2 hourly employees receive an 8% shift differential for hours worked between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., as well as for all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays.
