Software Engineer - Sr.
Location: Boise, ID - hybrid
Job Description: You will be working on a high-priority projects stabilizing the existing systems and performing a key role in a private cloud migration. To succeed, you will need to be highly motivated, creative, self-directed, and thrive in small project teams.
Responsibilities:
• Develop modules enabling the re-platform and re-architecture to both private and public cloud deployments, utilizing languages including C, Java, and GoLang.
• Develop unit and integration tests aligned with the automation platforms for all developed code.
• Convert C modules from Solaris to Linux.
• Migrate C based microservices to future architectures.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years working in an agile environment such as Scrum, Kanban, or XP
• Demonstrated experience in utilizing multiple software languages must include C or C++, and Java
• Ability to obtain valid US Security Clearance
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge or experience in multiple software languages potentially including C/C++, Java, GoLang, Javascript, Python.
• Demonstrated experience in leading assisting application re-architecture or re-platform.
• Ability to explain and implement software patterns such as strangler and adapter.
• Demonstrated experience with multiple data storage patterns including relational and non-relational stores.
• Demonstrated development and architectural experience at a component level minimum.
• Experience with distributed computing and know how to instrument and perform performance analysis.
• You have worked in a high transactional environment and understand fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• You work in a DevOps environment where CI and automated testing are a requirement.
• Ability to create elegant, efficient, and testable code, also writing the automated tests to prove it.
• Comfortable developing in a Linux environment.
Education:
• BS/MS degree in a STEM major or Equivalent work experience.
