Business Analyst - Single-Family Lending

2025-08-05     Idaho Housing and Finance Association     Boise,ID
Description:

WE ARE HIRING!

Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to support the Single-Family Lending division. This position plays a key role in driving data-informed decision-making by developing Power BI dashboards, lender scorecards, and operational reports aligned with program and performance goals.

Unlike traditional business analyst roles that report to IT, this role is embedded directly within the Homeownership Lending team and reports to the Director of Single-Family Lending, ensuring close alignment with frontline business operations and strategic objectives.

This is a full-time, on-site position located at IHFA's headquarters in Boise, Idaho. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.

  • Produce recurring and ad-hoc reporting and analytics related to loan production, acquisition, retention, pipeline management, and other strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and subject matter experts across departments (Lending, Finance, Servicing, Compliance) to identify reporting needs and business process improvements.
  • Maintain high standards for data accuracy and integrity, proactively identifying and resolving issues in source data or reporting logic.
  • Support leadership in business planning and performance reviews with timely, relevant, and actionable insights.
  • Document reporting procedures and train users as needed on accessing and interpreting dashboards and reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including experience with DAX, data modeling, and interactive visualization.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and familiarity with SQL, Excel, or other data manipulation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in mortgage lending, housing finance, or working with state/federal homeownership programs.
  • 2 years of experience in business analysis, data reporting, or business intelligence.
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, or other secondary market requirements.
  • Power BI certification preferred and experience with Microsoft Apps (Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Suite, Power Automate, etc.).
  • Experience using Encompass.

If available, please include a sample Power BI dashboard, portfolio, or brief project summary as part of your application. This helps us better understand your visualization skills and problem-solving approach.
