REWE digital Spain belongs to REWE Group, one of the leading trade and tourism groups in Germany and Europe with around 390,000 employees. In REWE digital, over 2,200 IT specialists set standards for IT implementation in the retail industry and develop new technologies for the sector.

REWE digital Spain is located in the Technological Park of Andalusia (PTA) in Malaga. As a team of 30 colleagues, we drive innovation for REWE digital in Germany. Your newly founded team in Spain will administer data catalog and API management platforms to create transparency about data and APIs within REWE digital. Your team will be the basis for a modern IT infrastructure with decentralized data ownership.

We are looking for an IT Engineer to support our transformation into a data-driven company by creating, implementing, and maintaining innovative technical solutions that enhance data and API transparency. You will administer platforms like Collibra and Gravitee to facilitate decentralized data ownership. Experience with these platforms is a plus but not mandatory.

What you will do:

  • Automation and Deployment: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, integrated with Kubernetes for automated application delivery and infrastructure management.
  • Cloud Integration: Utilize GCP to manage scalable and secure platform operations, optimizing for cost and performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop solutions, and provide technical guidance.
  • Reliability: Implement robust monitoring and logging solutions to ensure proactive platform management and quick incident resolution.



Key Skills

  • Kubernetes & Helm: Mastery in deploying and managing applications with Helm charts on Kubernetes clusters.
  • GitLab CI/CD: Deep knowledge of CI/CD practices with GitLab for streamlining deployment processes.
  • Automation: Experience automating infrastructure and application workflows for efficiency and consistency.

What you will bring:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure Engineering (e.g., GCP, Azure)
  • Strong understanding of the importance of data and metadata
  • Knowledge of databases and APIs
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies
  • Residency in Spain with a valid work permit/VISA (no sponsorship needed)

Nice to have:

  • Experience with data catalog and API management tools
  • Experience with data source systems like Snowflake, Google BigQuery, MicroStrategy, Tableau
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of SQL
