This is an exciting opportunity to play a keyleadership role in shaping the future of our business, driving both growth andinnovation. This is a full-time position located in our Portland, OR office or from one of our other offices.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute strategically and drive meaningful outcomes for our clients and team. The ideal candidate brings significant consulting experience and client relationships and will provide leadership and advanced technical support to a team of driven and innovative practitioners addressing our clients' emerging contaminants challenges. A key focus of the role is to help build a robust business, leveraging our one-team approach to deploy best practices across the industries we serve, including energy, infrastructure, airports, developers, and manufacturing, and clients including law firms and parties with Superfund sites. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESIn this position, you will:

  • Lead and grow the company's emerging contaminants practice by developing and maintaining strategic client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving significant revenue growth.
  • Oversee large, complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet technical, budgetary, and client satisfaction goals. Serve as a senior leader on project teams and oversee all phases of service delivery.
  • Build and guide high-performance teams, fostering a collaborative environment. Mentor emerging talent and promote staff development through hands-on coaching and leadership during project execution.
  • Be sought after to provide leadership for staff at varying levels with expert mentoring and coaching to support alignment of staff with market and client needs and support the growth and innovation of our practice areas.
  • Enhance company visibility by achieving leadership positions in external organizations and leveraging your role to advance company relationships with stakeholders, organizing conference sessions, publishing technical papers, etc.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate our foundational safety behaviors.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in BS in civil or chemical engineering, geology, chemistry, or related discipline.
  • 16+ years of relevant professional consulting experience within environmental services, specifically in emerging contaminants (PFAS, 6PPD-Quinone, microplastics, among others).
  • Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
  • Able to integrate industry-leading advancements into work as appropriate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including verbally communicating and presenting project information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both business development and project leadership, with experience safely and profitably leading high-revenue projects and client portfolios.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and lead client and internal discussions effectively.
  • Proven leadership experience in building and managing diverse teams, mentoring staff, and fostering collaboration.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic growth, client needs, and company profitability.
  • Proven record of publications, conference proceedings, and invited speaker events.
  • Advanced knowledge of the regulatory landscape and proven negotiation skills with federal, state and local regulators and funders.
Preferred Skills:
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in relevant discipline.
  • Experience with litigation matters.

This role has the option to work remotely. The pay range is flexible and actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, location and market conditions. The anticipated pay range for this position is $175,000 - $260,000.
