Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the COO, the Director of Digital Sales & Marketing (DMS) is the steward of Red Aspen's Acquire → Experience → Retain flywheel across ecommerce, CRM, and performance media. You will own strategy and day-to-day execution for CRM, PPC, and Paid Social . With success, the role will broaden to also include overseeing SEO, site-experience, conversion-rate optimization, and the wider channel mix.
Success in this role hinges on a sharp analytics mindset that turns customer insights into on-brand, conversion-driving messaging. The work is multi-faceted and fast-evolving, demanding a data-driven yet creative marketer who can communicate clearly, inspire cross-functional partners, and scale sustainable growth that over the long term amplifies our Brand Ambassadors' success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 1 teammate, 2 cross-functional teammates, and 4 contractors.
- Establish clear OKRs that ladder to the department's North Star pillars: Customer Acquisition, Experience, and Retention.
- Model servant leadership—removing blockers, sharing wins, and aligning efforts with Red Aspen values.
- Oversee a 700k to $1 million budget
- Define channel mix and budget allocation across paid social, search and email/SMS.
- Partner with Brand Ambassador leadership to create campaigns and digital assets that drive incremental field revenue (≥50 % online uplift vs. 2024 baseline).
- Oversee day-to-day strategy and execution of Email/SMS campaigns to hit segment targets for: Brand Ambassadors, returning customers, new customers and lapsed customers.
- Oversee day-to-day strategy and execution of Paid Media campaigns to meet internal new customer and ROA targets.
- Partner with analytics to operationalise the upcoming multi-touch attribution model; use insights to re-allocate spend each quarter.
- Maintain real-time dashboards for CAC, AOV, CLTV, ROAS, subscription penetration, and ambassador-sourced traffic.
- Translate data into concise readouts and recommendations for the executive team.
- Collaborate with GTM to execute on seamless product launches and promotions.
- Manage key agency/technology partners (e.g., paid media, ESP/SMS, CRO) within budget and performance guidelines.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years progressive experience in digital marketing/ecommerce with 3+ years leading teams; experience in beauty, CPG, or social-selling a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA a plus).
- Demonstrated success driving the A-E-R flywheel—acquisition, site/app experience, and retention strategies.
- ROI/KPI-obsessed: comfortable setting ambitious targets, interpreting data, and acting quickly on insights.
- Strong collaborator able to balance direct-to-consumer tactics with the needs of an independent sales force.

The pay range for this role is:
150,000 - 175,000 USD per year (Red Aspen Headquarters)
