Position Overview
The Marketing Associate supports the execution of integrated campaigns, digital content, and marketing operations for Spotlight and Leap brands. This full-time role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a knack for organization, and a passion for digital marketing. You'll assist in campaign scheduling, content coordination, email execution, data tracking, and performance reporting—ensuring our marketing stays aligned, timely, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deploy segmented campaigns using Mailchimp
- Monitor open rates, CTR, unsubscribes, and optimize based on trends
- Segment audiences and ensure campaign alignment across brands and regions
- Schedule and publish ad creatives using Meta Business Suite
- Track key Ad metrics like CTR, CPC, and ROAS
- Assist in compiling data reports to optimize targeting and media strategy
- Track weekly performance for campaigns and platforms
- Support marketing data entry, file organization, and Ninety task management
- Provide insights and recommendations based on campaign results
- Support the marketing team with admin tasks, asset routing, and event planning
- Proof content for grammar, branding, and alignment across platforms. Accuracy is at the heart of everything our marketing team does!
- Help keep calendars, checklists, and shared documents current and organized
- Help manage content calendars and ensure timely scheduling across platforms
- Create and curate assets using Canva for email, YouTube, and other platforms
- Assist with content publishing and community engagement during campaigns
- Capture live content during events (photos, videos, stories) and manage real-time social media
- Help plan content coverage, execute day-of posting, and contribute to post-event wrap-ups
- Coordinate with other event staff to capture key event moments
- Serve as event staff at company and industry events as needed (estimated 8-12 events/year).
- Represent Spotlight at industry trade shows and events.
Key Qualifications & Competencies
- 1–3 years' experience in marketing, communications, or related field
- Strong working knowledge of MailChimp, Meta Business Suite, and Canva
- Excellent organization, grammar, and proofreading skills
- Detail-oriented and dependable with strong follow-through
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects and timelines
- Experience with performance data, spreadsheets, and analytics preferred
- Prior experience in the dance, events, or performing arts industry is a plus
- Willingness to travel (approx. 8-12 events or meetings, 25-40 travel days per year). Must be okay sharing a hotel room with same-sex colleague.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in marketing, digital content, or campaign coordination
- Experience capturing content at live events and managing brand social media channels is preferred
- Proficiency with Canva and familiarity with tools like Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp, Google Workspace, and basic Excel/Sheets
- Comfortable interpreting basic campaign analytics (open rate, CTR, CPC, ROAS) and reporting actionable insights
- Bonus: Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), digital ad platforms, or project management tools (like Ninety, Asana, or Trello)
- Previous work with youth audiences, live events, or branded content is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This position supports the execution of approximately 7–9 regional events annually, each lasting 3–5 days, and 1–2 national events lasting 6–8 days. Travel is required to assist with marketing initiatives, event branding, and on-site content creation. During the off-season, responsibilities may include coordinating marketing materials, supporting warehouse-based brand inventory, and attending occasional industry functions.
The role involves moderate physical activity, including transporting marketing materials (up to 30–40 pounds), setting up displays, and working in varied environments such as event venues, hotels, and outdoor locations. Team members should be comfortable adapting to fast-paced event schedules, extended hours, and occasional shared accommodations with same-gender colleagues during travel assignments.
