Job Summary:

The EMS & NEMT Operations Director plays a key leadership role in overseeing all aspects of emergency and non-emergency medical transportation operations. The leader in this role will be responsible for planning, developing, and evaluating the day-to-day activities within our company. Key responsibilities include overseeing field operations and business office administration, which encompass managing the fleet, equipment, budget, scheduling, and other tasks as directed. This position works closely with the Executive Director to ensure alignment with the organization's goals and high standards of patient care and operational excellence.

Position Type & Location:

  • Full-time
  • Weekends and evenings as needed
  • Must work on-site at our Boise headquarters

Pay: Salary ranges between $60,000 - $75,000 depending on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uphold Quality Standards:

  • Ensure regulatory compliance with state, federal, and accrediting agencies.
  • Develop and implement protocols, procedures, and training programs
  • Serve as liaison between state governing bodies, stakeholders, and other healthcare agencies.

Daily Operational Duties:

  • Supervise all personnel, interns, and students
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing, and budgeting
  • Collaborate with accounts receivable department to optimize billing processes and operational decisions
  • Review financial statements and performance data to optimize productivity and identify areas for cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Prepare work schedules for EMS and transportation staff
  • Ensure proper certification of new hires
  • Provide direct patient care as needed

Fleet/Equipment Management & Maintenance:

  • Ensure all fleet vehicles are registered, insured, and in compliance.
  • Monitor vehicle and equipment functionality, safety, and cleanliness
  • Monitor suppliers to ensure efficient and cost-effective provision of goods and services within budgetary limits.

Personnel Functions:

  • Recruit and retain top talent
  • Assist department directors in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of in-services training classes, on-the-job training and orientation programs.
  • Assist in performance evaluations.

Safety Compliance:

  • Support QA/QI processes to drive clinical excellence
  • Promote safety procedures and compliance among the team.
  • Conduct post-accident investigations, implement safety programs, and oversee safety training

Business Development:

  • Support business development and healthcare facility relationships to drive referrals and secure contracts
  • Facilitate new business contracts
  • Communicate goals, updates, and program outcomes effectively across departments
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director or Resources Team.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; but not required
  • Previous EMS experience. (Minimum of 1 years preferred)
  • Currently holds certification as a Paramedic, preferred Critical Care Paramedic.

Leadership Experience:

  • At least three (3) years in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent leadership and delegation abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fleet management experience is a plus.

Additional Specific Requirements:

  • Must hold a current and active State license/Registration/Certification.
  • Knowledge of emergency medical services policies, practices, and procedures; and pre-hospital medical care practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of business management; personnel management; budgeting and financial management; and RFP/contracts.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and transport rules/regulations.

Working Conditions:

The work requires the incumbent to direct emergency medical services in the field.

  • Speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide emergency care as needed per protocols
