Job Description

As an Engineer / Senior Engineer, Global Facilities - Electrical FAC at Micron, you will have the opportunity to craft the future of memory and storage solutions. In this role, you will provide outstanding engineering services and support for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of electrical systems within our global semiconductor manufacturing sites and large-scale U.S. Greenfield FAB construction projects. You will collaborate with diverse teams to ensure flawless execution, innovation, and sustainability in all phases of design and construction.

Provide Design and Construction Project Support, Leadership, and Expertise

  • Lead the design and construction project teams for U.S. Greenfield FAB projects
  • Coordinate planning, execution, and completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
  • Collaborate with global, regional, and site teams, including Facilities, Construction, Procurement, Operations, IT, and more
  • Develop and implement electrical system design concepts for U.S. projects
  • Establish outstanding engineering and construction practices focusing on innovation and sustainability
  • Coordinate electrical system reviews and ensure outstanding design and construction execution
  • Develop and review design and construction standards and specifications
  • Foster effective communication with collaborators to meet project objectives
  • Perform timely design package reviews and provide detailed feedback
  • Support cost and schedule estimates and provide justification for approvals
  • Supervise and coordinate consultant resources
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable standards, codes, and regulations
  • Review capacity planning databases and validate assumptions
  • Lead capacity and scenario planning across the network

Provide Technical Support, Leadership, and Expertise

  • Provide consultation and support as the subject matter expert in the technical field
  • Work together with internal collaborators and team members
  • Develop, review, and maintain global standards, specifications, and best-known methods (BKMs)
  • Ensure standardization and alignment across Micron sites
  • Analyze system designs for performance improvements and cost savings
  • Support problem analysis with standard tools and methodologies
  • Benchmark engineering standard methodologies and BKMs
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and technological advances

Provide Global Initiatives Program Support, Leadership, and Expertise

  • Support global best-known methods (BKM) documents focusing on operations and maintenance reliability
  • Collaborate on global programs and initiatives, defining objectives and implementation plans
  • Contribute to global sustainability programs supporting emissions, energy, water, and green infrastructure
  • Share lessons learned and feedback to improve global standards and BKMs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum 4 to 10+ years of experience in semiconductor and/or facilities-related industry
  • Technical expertise in semiconductor electrical systems including high, medium, and low voltage systems
  • Ability to travel internationally 15-25% of the time, up to 30% during critical project phases

  • Excellent communication and team-working skills
  • Self-motivated and familiar with semiconductor manufacturing and facilities systems
