Description

Position Purpose

We are looking to hire a Lactation Consultant at our Boise hospital! This is a part-time, day shift position. The schedule includes two 8-hour shifts on Thursday & Friday, plus one weekend every 6-8 weeks. Additional hours are available if needed.

Our Lactation Consultants provide professional infant nutrition and lactation care, collaborating with the healthcare team for assessment, planning, and treatment of breastfeeding patients and families. They promote physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and serve as a patient advocate.
  • Provide hands-on care, assessment, planning, and education for mothers and families.
  • Mentor professional staff and provide organizational leadership in breastfeeding.
  • Exercise judgment, decision-making, and delegation skills.
  • Participate in community outreach and educational activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • IBCLC certification required within 12 months of hire.
  • Recognized healthcare professional, preferably a Registered Dietitian, Nurse, or Therapist, licensed in Idaho.
  • At least 3 years of experience in infant nutrition or maternal and child health.
  • Basic Life Support certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network.
