Description:

Capex Project Manager

Location: On-Site in Boise, ID

Industry: Industrial & Commercial Construction (Aviation Infrastructure)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

Our client, a nationally recognized self-performing general contractor, has secured a marquee capital project at a major Western US airport. They are investing more than $30M to convert a greenfield site into a state-of-the-art bulk-liquid storage and distribution facility that will expand regional aviation capacity for decades to come. As the on-site Capex Project Manager, you will have full P&L responsibility, lead a diverse trade team, and set the tone for safety, quality, and performance on one of the most visible infrastructure programs in the Mountain West.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the end-to-end delivery of a multi-phase, $30M-plus capital project, transforming raw land into a fully operational liquid storage and distribution facility that meets stringent aviation standards.
  • Coordinate schedules, safety plans, and scopes across 20 or more specialty contractors and 1-2 internal self-perform crews covering civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical work.
  • Own cost control: forecast cash flow, approve change orders, and drive value engineering to maintain budget targets.
  • Act as primary liaison with airport authorities, owner's representatives, and design partners, ensuring seamless execution within an active airfield environment.
  • Build and mentor an on-site team (superintendents, field engineers, and support staff) that embodies accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain meticulous project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and executive dashboards, providing transparent weekly updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years managing ground-up capital projects of at least $20M in industrial or commercial sectors; airfield or energy infrastructure experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record leading all project phases from pre-construction through turnover while juggling multiple subcontractors and self-perform crews.
  • Expert user of CPM scheduling (Primavera P6 or similar), cost forecasting, and contract administration tools.
  • Demonstrated success driving safety culture and quality control on complex, multi-trade jobsites.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Able to work 100 percent on site in Boise, ID for the duration of the 2-3-year build; comprehensive relocation assistance available.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience.
  • Performance bonus up to 10 percent tied to project profitability metrics.
  • Industry-leading benefits package, company-paid travel for periodic corporate meetings, and clear advancement path to Senior Project Executive.

Why You Should Apply

  • High-Impact Build: Spearhead a flagship aviation infrastructure project that will shape regional growth.
  • Career Trajectory: Position is the cornerstone for future national programs; success here opens doors to nationwide remote or hybrid leadership roles.
  • Supportive Culture: Join a tight-knit leadership team that values autonomy, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Immediate Start: Contract has been awarded and preliminary procurement is underway-step in now to influence strategy from day one.
