National Accounts Manager

The National Accounts Manager - East (NAM) is responsible to work with a diverse portfolio of business for key National Account Operators. In this role, the National Accounts Manager will drive the development of new business and manage existing contract business for an assigned account list, while ensuring the account strategy and budget is achieved. Through assigned accounts, the National Accounts Manager will drive account penetration and growth of prioritized products, including new product development, new account conversions and annual financial objectives. By developing and executing to an annual sales plan, the National Accounts Manager will work to sell the portfolio of Simplot products and grow the business through aligning Sales and Marketing strategy to ensure successful contract negotiations, contract compliance, and overall support of Simplot company goals. Preferred candidates will reside in Texas. We're also open to candidates who are willing to relocate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building and executing a go-to-market strategy that drives business growth and sales covering large markets.
  • Utilizing business acumen skills to develop and manage pricing contracts, budgets, and advise on strategic investment.
  • Profiling and penetrating strategic key operator accounts that are critical to achieving Simplot's established sales goals and growing the business.
  • Researching industry and marketing trends and developing product suggestions based on findings through collaborative work with Simplot Marketing.
  • Driving customer acceptance of new product introductions and other innovations, as relevant to the market.
  • Communicating the benefits of the Simplot portfolio to ensure that customers are provided with the product knowledge they need to be successful.
  • Establishing and developing relationships with key managers and sellers at assigned operators.
  • Building relationships and partnering with various internal departments to accomplish key initiatives and complete day-to-day operations.
  • Delivering excellent presentations at all levels of an organization.
  • Being highly engaged with the use of the Simplot CRM system to drive efficiency and strong results, and fully embracing and becoming proficient with the Simplot Sales Process.

Typical education is a Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4 year college or university. Relevant experience includes 8+ years of foodservice sales management experience with National Accounts and strong relationships with existing National Accounts preferred. Ability to travel up to 50%. Self-motivator and ability to influence teams without authority. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to manage complex and unexpected demands from daily activities. Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
