This role involves leading mechanical design projects supporting manufacturing operations. The position requires working closely with client owners in a fast-paced environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents for installing complex manufacturing tools and mechanical facilities infrastructure.This is an onsite role that requires commuting to the client site in Boise, ID. Relocation assistance may be provided, but travel expenses will not be reimbursed.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and oversight of piping, ducting, heating, cooling, exhaust, and process chemicals and gases for industrial facilitiesDevelop retrofit solutions for existing building systems to accommodate new tool installationsPerform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, selection, and specificationsProvide technical training and quality checks on designsServe as the mechanical representative on multi-discipline design teams, collaborating with electrical, structural, and process engineersSupport construction integration, assisting with field oversight and resolving site issuesMay be responsible for professional engineer stamping of designsOversee a team of engineers and designers, focusing on hiring, training, and retentionConduct interviews, performance evaluations, and salary negotiationsManage career development, conflict resolution, and team performanceApprove weekly time sheets and manage resource allocationWork directly with equipment owners, researchers, and equipment manufacturers to develop installation design packagesRequirementsBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited universityTwelve or more years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience with facilities systems, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, and plumbingFour or more years leading engineering design teams with personnel development responsibilitiesLicensed professional engineer in Idaho or ability to obtain within three months with an active NCEES recordPreferred QualificationsFive or more years of experience working with semiconductor manufacturing tools, including their manufacture, installation, or use in cleanroomsProficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks softwareStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a forward-thinking mindsetTwo years of field experience in industrial facility environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teamsAdditional DetailsWork is 100 percent onsite in Boise, ID with no remote or hybrid optionsCandidate must be within commuting distance and willing to travel to the client site as neededBackground check and drug screen requiredMust be authorized to work in the United States with no visa sponsorship availableMinimal overtime with a billing rate of 1.4 times the standard rateWork schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PMNo travel requiredLocation: Boise, ID (Onsite – No Remote Work)Assignment Term: 6-month temp-to-direct, expected to transition to direct hire within 3-6 monthsPay Rate: $49/hr. - $67.31/hr.
