We are a diverse portfolio of companies dedicated to health, wellness, and longevity. We are owned and led by #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Dr. Peter Attia. Early Medical is a virtual (telemedicine) practice focused on the applied science of longevity and Medicine 3.0. The practice deals extensively with nutritional interventions, exercise physiology, sleep physiology, emotional and mental health, and pharmacology to increase lifespan (how long you live), while simultaneously improving healthspan (the quality of your life). Some of the additional brands led by Peter include The Drive, a weekly deep-dive podcast focusing on maximizing longevity, and Early, a 12-module digital experience that's based upon a patient's journey within Early Medical. The Drive is routinely recognized as one of the leading health and fitness podcasts by Apple and YouTube. Our Research team conducts research to support the medical practice and to inform our wider public (through The Drive podcast, our e-newsletter, and other public content), each requiring attention to the intended audience and use of information.
We believe very strongly in what we do and the impact we make in the lives of our exceptional patients and international audience. Collectively, we have over 40 full-time remote employees from coast to coast.
Join us as we introduce Medicine 3.0 to the world.
The field of longevity and aging is complex and full of questions that don't have easy answers. The questions that we care about often require us to examine all of the information at our disposal from scientific literature, government data, and even media outlets. Data may be incomplete. Sources may contradict each other. It is our job to think deeply and formulate the best and most reliable conclusions possible.
In this role, you will conduct research to support the medical practice and to inform our wider public (through The Drive podcast, our e-newsletter, and other public content), each requiring attention to the intended audience and use of information.
For instance, questions to support the clinical practice might include:
While questions for our public content may include broader topics, such as:
Under the direction of our Director of Research, you will be responsible for the research, synthesis, analysis, and presentation of information to answer time-sensitive clinical questions, reach broad audiences with creative and engaging editorials, prepare podcast interviews with world experts in science and health, and give critical thoughts and opinions on longevity literature.
With your resume and (optional) cover letter, you will also attach a writing sample. This role involves substantial writing and requires a superior ability to organize information and concepts into a coherent narrative. Therefore, we require that each application include a writing sample to help us understand your style and how you synthesize and express ideas. (Note that late-stage candidates will also be asked to perform one or more writing assessments during the interview process.) Tip: Please be thoughtful in the sample you upload. It can be a dissertation, newsletter, blog post, commentary on a particular topic or study, etc, but should primarily be your own ideas and writing. Peer-reviewed publications tell us comparatively little about your work on an individual level, so we request that you refrain from using them as your sample. While samples related to biomedical science are often the best way to showcase your skill for this position, we are primarily interested in your ability to communicate a logical progression of ideas, so we also accept essays or other nonfiction writing related to non-science topics.
This role offers a competitive compensation package, the base salary range is $85k-$100k. Many factors go into the decision-making process for our offers, one of those factors is geographic location. While this is a remote position, we want to ensure that this opportunity satisfies the cost-of-living within the city in which our employees reside. Other factors include external market benchmark data, skill and experience level, as well as performance and evaluation through the interview process.
