Senior Contracting Agent

Idaho Power located in vibrant Boise, Idaho is looking for a Senior Contracting Agent to join our Supply Chain Procurement team. It's an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. This position is based at Idaho Power's downtown Boise location. We offer employees both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote after a period of demonstrated proficiency in their role.

The Senior Contracting Agent works independently and with minimal guidance to lead stakeholders in the development of internal customer materials and service contracts of significant risk and/or complexity. They lead the competitive bidding process, negotiations, and prepare comprehensive contract documents. The Senior Contracting Agent will meet business unit cost objectives with a focus on delivering the best value to Idaho Power.

A competitive candidate will have knowledge of:

  • Contracting practices, terms, and conditions
  • Developing and writing a statement of work
  • Negotiation techniques and supplier management practices
  • Competitive bidding processes
  • Contracting strategies and principles for a wide range of service/goods industries
  • ERP and EAM systems
  • Business Acumen

Preferred:

  • Government and Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements related to government grant funding
  • Build America Buy America (BABA) and Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA)
  • Contracting processes related to federal General Services Administration, including OFAC and SBA

  • May be required to work extended hours in the event of large emergencies, i.e. fires, outages, etc.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: 6 or more years related work experience

Licenses & Certifications: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position

Physical Requirements This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position.
