Principal or Senior HIG-HBM Systems Engineer

Description:

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for system‑level validation, failure analysis, characterization, and experimentation of customer systems.
  • Run and configure diagnostic software, build experiments, analyze and interpret data, craft custom hardware and software tools,and present data to customers inside and outside Micron.
  • Provide technical customer integration support at customer locations using equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters.
  • Work with customers and memory enablers (e.g., GPU manufacturers) to achieve build wins and qualify Micron memory products in their applications.
  • Collaborate with other specialists within the HBM team, Product Engineering, FAE, Quality Assurance, and business unit teams.
  • Provide technical support to customers and the field sales team.
  • Apply diagnostics to reproduce original failures and provide 8D or failure documentation for resolution.
  • Develop and modify hardware that controls test parameters (e.g., temperature or voltage).
  • Communicate results with multi‑functional teams and customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (or equivalent) with 2–4 years of experience, requiring balanced hardware and software skills.
  • Comfortable working and programming with Linux, Python/C/C++, and version control systems (git, svn).
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication, data analytics, and presentation skills.
  • Basic understanding of DRAM operations and computer networking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in bios/Linux driver development/debug.
  • Understanding of system architecture and memory subsystems.
  • Comfortable working with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, soldering equipment, etc.
  • Previous experience validating products with hardware/firmware/software components.
  • Experience in hardware, software, semiconductor development, or telecom engineering.

US base salary range: $112,000.00 – $286,000.00 per year (plus additional compensation such as bonuses and equity).
