Job Title: Production Operator Job Description

The Production Operator works as part of a collaborative team responsible for assembling complete products or product components in a manufacturing environment. This role involves rotating through multiple tasks in the assembly process, following standard operating procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to assemble complete products and subassemblies according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Rotate through various assembly tasks as needed rather than performing only a single, fixed task.

  • Maintain a safe work environment by consistently following all safety protocols and guidelines.

  • Ensure compliance with the PedSafety Handbook, Bambee Policies, and all applicable work rules.

  • Complete all required training before operating any product, tool, or machine.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of small hand tools and apply knowledge of manufacturing production processes.

  • Verify that equipment and tooling calibrations and preventive maintenance (PMs) are current before use.

  • Follow cleanliness and 5S practices to maintain an organized and efficient work area.

  • Identify opportunities to improve process flow and suggest changes that reduce wasted effort and time.

  • Perform and document quality checks as directed by leadership to ensure products meet specifications.

  • Inspect products and perform in-process quality checks with careful attention to detail.

  • Use computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, to complete production, quality, or reporting tasks.

  • Participate as needed in team discussions and decisions that may affect daily work processes.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working in production, general labor, or machine operation within a manufacturing or assembly environment.

  • Ability to operate production and assembly equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Proficiency in using small hand tools for assembly tasks.

  • Understanding of basic manufacturing production processes and workflows.

  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documented work instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail for performing and documenting quality checks and inspections.

  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety policies and procedures.

  • Capability to verify equipment and tooling calibrations and recognize when preventive maintenance is due.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and rotate through multiple tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with 5S principles and workplace organization practices.

  • Experience identifying process improvements and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

  • Comfort working with general production and machine operating tasks in a manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and tasks as needed.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and other typical production conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses and other safety gear, is required as specified by safety protocols. The position involves standing for up to 10 hours per shift and repeatedly lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds throughout the day. You will frequently bend, twist, and move materials as part of normal duties. Strict adherence to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and the use of safety locks, is required to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
